I am interested in having my wedding planned by The Maharani Diaries, what do I do?
Welcome! We would love to hear from you. Contact us via the contact form on the Contact page. We will follow up with a general introduction email and a brief overview of our services. Poonam’s service is personal, so she will hop on a phone call or Zoom meeting and have a chat with you before you decide on which service is best suited for your wedding. Once you have reached a decision, we’ll send through a full proposal. We require a 50% deposit and prospective start date before commencement.
I am not based in Australia. Can I still hire you for my wedding?
Yes of course. We are open to working with brides and grooms from all over the worlds.
I don’t want a big wedding, will that require more or less work?
This is dependent on a number of factors, including guest numbers, location and style. After meeting with you, we will tailor our packages to you.
Why can’t you give me a fixed cost?
Every wedding and event package is tailored to you.
We know that there is always going to be something cheaper out there in the marketplace, but we offer full time support, a dedicated and reliable team guiding you along the way plus loads of value.

How much should I expect to budget for?
We highly recommend creating your guest list first and then proceed with budget planning. The average you can expect to pay per-person for a sit-down event at a premium wedding venue is around $200pp. So, in that respect, it’s important to consider price per person.
Poonam and her team work with events of all sizes and guest counts, so contact us to figure out if your budget expectations are in line with your vision.

No worries at all! Good news is that there is a service for this too. Poonam offers in depth consultations for couples who aren’t on the hunt for full wedding planning services.
How many events do you take on every year and how far in advance should we book with you?
We will work on only a handful of events in a year. It’s great if you could book us in right away. Providing that we have all the full details and requirements, we’ll also be able to cover anything up to 1 month out from your event.
Do I have to work with your preferred list of suppliers?
No. We are fortunate to be able to work with a number of highly professional and well-renowned local and international wedding suppliers. We will make recommendations depending on the type of your event and also work with wedding and event suppliers that we truly believe are a good fit for you. However, we are more than happy to work with others.
How long have you been in business and what is your experience?
Poonam has worked in the events, hospitality and tourism industry since 2010. She has worked in Melbourne (Australia), Cork (Ireland) and Sydney (Australia) across a range of different industries, including academic. She knows a lot about weddings too, having interned with well-renowned wedding and event professionals. She has been in business officially now, since 2017. From running a highly successful wedding blog, The Maharani Diaries to now planning events full-time.
Her design work has been featured in reputable local and international bridal publications such as Love My Dress, Polka Dot Bride and Confetti. More recently she hosted a webinar with Easy Weddings Australia about multicultural weddings and inclusivity in the industry.
She is passionate about weddings and believes in creating out of the box stylish and memorable experiences to last a lifetime.
