Introducing Luxury Tent Hire Specialists Glamacamp Weddings And Events
It may be winter, but before we know it, outdoor picnics will make a return and so will weddings and events. With that in mind, I want to take this exciting opportunity to introduce you to Noosa based, luxury tent hire specialists, Glamacamp Weddings And Events.
Husband and wife team, Lisa and Kym noticed a gap in the wedding industry and quite simply ran with it. Now they are one of the only luxury tent hire specialists in Australia. My favourite thing about this small business is that their tents are handmade in India.
Glamacamp has an extensive eclectic hire range and beautiful styling props, along with bespoke Indian handmade Raj tents to suit outdoor and indoor events. Ideal for bridal showers, mehndi parties, a sangeet, nikah or even your wedding ceremony and luxe wedding reception.
A bonus is that they have a growing collection of old-world specialty antiques and collectables that are available for hire. An eclectic collection of British/French Colonial design with deriving ideas, styles, and taste from abroad and diverse range of sources from many different cultures around the world.
Lucky for you, one-half of the team, Lisa is today spreading some sunshine on our pages, chatting about all things tent related, luxury props, small weddings and more!
What made you start this venture and what attracted you to the Raj style luxury tents?
Having already stocked bell tents for boutique high end glamping experiences, I wanted to expand with an alternative tent style to push the whole business towards weddings and events. Over time, I had been admiring from afar a massive luxury tent hire company in Los Angeles that does incredible raj tent set ups. Their business is not only breathtaking, but truly inspiring.
Your tents are so unique to Australia and unlike any we’ve seen before. What is it that makes Glamacamp Weddings And Events tents stand apart from the more traditional marquee or tipi tents?
They have more of an exotic feel and with our styling and hire range, transport people on an adventure. We are seeing a shift from the normal styled marquee or tipi tents to our Raj tents as they just give a different dynamic to the event. Our tents are all still handmade and have traditional hand blocked patterns along with tiny mirrors on the inner roof lining. It’s like star gazing into the night sky. The valance that surrounds our Raj tents with the intricate pattern detail along with the tassels also gives a different feel to the normal marquees, a more exotic feel. We also have hanging candelabras from each pole which just makes these tents pop at night.
Do you only service Noosa and Queensland or are you prepared to travel for interstate events?
We are more than happy to travel anywhere to create something special for any event. Obviously, there are cost’s with doing this and we try to keep that to a minimum as much as we can for the client.
Are there any unique experiences that you can create for couples for their wedding celebration?
We love to engage with the client and find out as much as we can while working with them to create exactly what they are looking for. Every time we create a unique experience for our client, our feedback has been that they have never experienced anything quite like this and are just wowed by the attention to detail. That’s exactly what we aim for, a wow experience.
Tell us all about the beautiful and unique props you have on offer.
We have been collecting antiques now for over 10 years and have some unique pieces from all over the world that will bring a unique feel to your special event. We supply wedding planners, stylists, retail outlets, corporate companies and photographers, props, and furniture to add style and interest for events. You can hire the pieces to style yourself or we have a styling package if you need direction. Glamacamp Weddings And Events has a growing collection of specialty old world antiques and collectables that are available for hire. An eclectic collection of British/French Colonial design with deriving ideas, style, and taste from a broad and diverse range of sources from many different cultures around the world. Our collection includes many antique lounges, tables, rugs, mirrors, chairs, chandeliers, candelabras, cushions, glassware, platters and cutlery.
You also have a wide variety of other tents available. Perhaps you can tell us more about these.
Our Raj tents range from a 3m x 3m square tent to our 4m, 5m, and 6m Octagon tents up to the big 6m x 9m rectangle tents. They can be joined to make larger tents if required. The octagon tents come in a range of different colours also, as well as the solid colours we have a large range of coloured curtains to theme any event. We also offer a specialty service given enough lead time we can arrange to get a custom colour made for your event.
Aside from weddings, what other type of events can Glamacamp Weddings And Events cater for?
Any event you can think of, we can do. Corporate, social, weddings, baby shower, hens day, mile stone birthday, family get together. Whether it is outdoors, indoors in a high ceiling venue, any special event, intimate dining for two, proposals, sleepovers. We set up on private properties and public land as long as we have permits in place. We like to do a site visit first to make sure we know exactly what space we are working with prior to setting up so we can make sure we give you the best solutions for your event.
Covid has had a massive impact on the wedding and events industry. We really hope that the interstate borders open up between Queensland as well. What has the response been like on your end and are you starting to see a trend in say for example, the more intimate celebrations?
Definitely. There has been a shift from big weddings to small events celebrations due to the border restrictions and Covid. We have just had to adapt to cater for this. We believe that people don’t have the confidence to book events too far into the future. We have seen borders close in a matter of hours and the uncertainty that this brings on the client is concerning. We have clients booking a few days, weeks, and months before an event, not years like it used to be. We hope that this starts to ease as we move through the year, and we start to see the big weddings come back. There’s nothing like seeing a big group of people enjoy spending time with each other under our fabulous tents.
How are you preparing for the 2021/2022 wedding season?
We have been prepping all through Covid 2020 to early 2021 by adding to our collection. We knew that there would be a point where we would have to hit the ground running. We have also invested in marketing and collaborations to help relaunch the business and gain exposure and momentum once again.
Are there any trends you expect to see over the coming year?
I think there will still be smaller weddings with a higher spend, outdoors and destination weddings, still moving away from the traditional wedding venues. I think the festival wedding will still be popular domestically. We are seeing a lot of minimal elegance, romance…. it would be great to see some bold statements being made, dark or moody with pops of colour. We are not shy of pushing a trend, we love colour and design and are willing to initiate new directions.
A huge thanks to Lisa of Glamacamp Weddings And Events for taking the time out to share your story with us.
I am thrilled to be spreading the word about this exciting small business and cannot wait to colour our future couples’ weddings with their stunning Raj tents.
