Calling all Autumn lovers! What does Autumn mean t Calling all Autumn lovers! What does Autumn mean to you? For me, that means crisp mornings, shorter days, loads of nights spent snuggling up in front of the heater and soups for dinner.

The change in season brings new blooms and warmer colour palettes. Above all though, the small things can make your wedding utterly memorable. Think seasonal comforts such as blankets and throws, a steaming hot chai station and jalebis. Yumm!

One thing to note though, this season can be unpredictable, so the key is location. Be prepared for rain, hail or shine. It's tempting to opt for an outdoor celebration, but have those contingencies in place.

I personally love this season because it's also the month I got married!

What's your favourite thing about Autumn?

Hi there.. So, here are my thoughts on how to end Hi there.. So, here are my thoughts on how to end bias in the wedding industry. This years International Womens Day theme is a significant one for the wedding and events industry.

First things first, I want to make it very clear that every single person in this industry is uniquely different and I consider myself very very lucky to be a part of it.

I have been planning weddings and events for a few years now and my focus has always been on diversity and inclusion, well before it became a hot topic and well before the events of 2020.

Several years before Instagram was a thing, I couldn’t find any resources in Australia that represented me or my culture. Pretty much no one of colour - couldn’t find it in a magazine, the internet publications or at a single wedding expo. I had to do everything on my own because there weren’t a lot of people out there that looked like me or understood what I was talking about.

So this formed part of my motivation to start my own business, because I didn’t want my couples to be denied from having the wedding of their dreams.

For the longest time, this industry has excluded people. Whether that’s brides, grooms, people getting married or industry professionals, it’s important for us to break down the barriers and challenge bias, regardless of race, sexuality, gender or religion.

So, how can we become more intentional and above all, more inclusive?

A good place to start would be to give us all an opportunity to share our experiences and our stories. Our industry is predominantly white and many of us feel unheard and underrepresented. Hard fact I’m afraid.

Let’s work together to smash down the stereotypes and allow us to celebrate people from all walks of life. From online publications to Instagram to even preferred vendor lists, it’s important to make DEI a priority in your business. Widen your networks, educate yourself, expand your knowledge and be intentional with your communication.

Everyone should be given an opportunity in this industry don’t you think? Curious to hear your thoughts on this, particularly if you are a WOC working in the wedding or events space.

A very happy anniversary to my first Melbourne cou A very happy anniversary to my first Melbourne couple!

Here’s a bit of a back story about this wedding..

Kavya and Rithin and their families approached me back in November 2020, soon after Melbourne’s grueling 2nd Covid lockdown.

Little did I know that in the weeks leading up to their wedding, the borders between Sydney and Melbourne would close once again due to you know what..

4 days out from me driving down to Melbourne, my Melbourne family warned me that a hard border was inevitable. Hubby and I changed our original travel date and drove as fast as we could to get across that “border” in time.

A week later, we were witness to one of the most beautiful intimate wedding ceremonies.

A stunning catholic wedding full of luscious fragrant florals. Swipe for full images.

All geared up and ready to roll! So what will 2022 All geared up and ready to roll! So what will 2022 weddings look like?

2 years of dealing with cancellations, postponements.. It’s been exhausting, challenging and uncertain hey!

My prediction is, couples will start to be thinking out of the box and get super creative. Think non-traditional venues, bold colours, good music, epic food.. The focus will no doubt be on having one giant party.

Above all, really have a think about those “must-haves” and please don’t panic. There are so many unbelievable creative souls in our industry. Enough to go around and make your wedding a memorable experience.

Please say you agree?? 👇🏽
