It’s goodbye cake and hello doughnuts (or donuts)!
These super sweet treats are all the rage right now in wedding world. Couples are embracing this trend and serving them in the most delightful ways.
Whether it’s on your dessert table, or as a bespoke wedding favour, there are plenty of ways to include these scrumptious treats in your wedding.
Doughnut Walls
Remember flower walls? These blew up the internet a couple of years back, but donut walls are just, well so much more delicious. Use it as a fun, playful and edible photo backdrop, a feature of your dessert buffet or as an entrance to your wedding reception.
Picture your guests having a ball of a time posing for photographs in front of these cute as walls! We “dough nut” think they will want to leave this party!

Wedding Favours
Stuck on wedding favour ideas? Let your guests prepare their own little goodie bags – give them the freedom to pick their favourite flavour from the dessert buffet or they can fill them up with an assortment of mini doughnut treats.
Place some pretty packaging on each table or mini bags, or you can prep them before hand and instruct the waiters to bring them out at the end of the reception. It’s a fabulous take home gift and your guests will be sure to thank you the next day.

Canapé Style
Ever heard of dessert canapés? Switch up your order at the wedding reception and serve your desserts as hors d’oeuvres.
Many a time, I have seen with my own eyes, desserts being wasted on guest tables. People forget about them as they were too busy talking or they’re already hitting it off with their besties on the dance floor! No one runs back to the table, unless someone makes an announcement.
Have your waiters offer guests a selection of mini donut treats. Serve them with a shot of espresso, or even better, espresso martinis for your winter wedding celebration!

Donut Bar
Instead of going full shebang and choosing tried and tested dessert options, serve a selection of frosted, filled or plain donuts and serve them with your favourite coffee (the machine quality of course) or hot chocolate. If it’s a summer wedding, how about some chilled iced coffee or cold brew blend!
Fill up the bar with doughnuts in DIY paper cones, serve coloured sprinkled varieties for a summer wedding and warm Italian doughnuts for a winter wedding.

Donut Cake

There are loads of styles to choose from, each unique in their own way. Stacked, layered, tiers, towers, doughnuts paired with an actual cake. Some of the doughnut towers even have a wedding topper.
