We love when couples combine their traditions and heritage into their wedding. For Sydney based couple, Shilpa and Shakti, it was important to them and their families to have a mixed Marathi and Telugu wedding ceremony and it was certainly lovely to see. They tied the knot in Auckland, New Zealand at the BAPS Swaminarayan mandir followed by a beautiful reception at a private venue with sweeping views of the bay. They even had sheep present at their wedding!

Happy New Year maharanis!

With a new year comes the perfect excuse to look back on the year’s achievements. For myself, it’s honestly been a year for celebration, growth and forming new partnerships.

I want to take this opportunity to feature snippets of our inaugural Sydney event. What a fantastic day it was with plenty of fashion, food, entertainment and laughs to share all around! Enjoy our coverage of Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice.

Happy holidays maharanis!

We hope you have been having a lovely and relaxing summer break. Don’t know about you, but we are already looking forward to a lot of exciting opportunities ahead of us in 2020.

But, before we dive into another year, we want to take ourselves back to earlier this month, when Poonam of The Maharani Diaries got a chance to attend one of our favourite cake vendor’s cake decorating workshop. This was a cake decorating workshop unlike any others. With thanks to Afra of Oh That Be Good, Poonam got to make the cutest reindeer gingerbread and chocolate cake and the results are pretty wow. Check it out!

Allow us to introduce you to the wonderfully talented, Sydney wedding cake decorator, Afra Abdeen of Oh That Be Good.

A little different to the traditional white frosted wedding cakes, we love how Afra’s cakes reflect her style and values. If you’re after rustic charm and elegance for your wedding day, then she’s your dream wedding cake decorator.
